This Friday it’s time for the second round of the Emirates Desert Championship (EDC) in Dubai.
Once again Swedish rally driver Annie Seel will be on the start line, this time behind the steering wheel of a Polaris RZR buggy prepared by Saluki Motorsport.

“I am thrilled to come out and race in a side by side (UTV) this time. I haven’t raced them before, so this will be a new and fun challenge.”

In the first round Annie Seel raced a SsangYong Musso, and finished third in class despite some technical problems. The UTV class will be much more competitive. The Team Manager of Saluki Motorsport, Mark Powell, won the UTV class in the first round of the championship lst month.

“I saw Mark flying his Yamaha buggy in the dunes last race. My aim is to learn from him, and try and keep up with him if possible.”

Saluki Motorsport is based in Dubai and are specialised in preparing rally cars and buggies for desert racing. Team Manager Mark Powell has many years of experience in desert racing and in 2015 competed in the Dakar rally as co-driver for the Polish driver Marek Dabrowski.

“For the team it is a great opportunity to have experienced international drivers with us. Annie also brings that special never-give-up mentality of Dakar racing that I love.”
